3D App
In order to disseminate the scientific findings of the project, an application will be developed to allow a virtual 3D recreation of the original polychromy of the Founder’s Chapel, along with an explanation of the pigments and techniques used and the symbolic meanings of colour in the commemorative programme. Through this interactive display visitors to the Chapel will be able to form a more accurate view of the Avis original commemorative project, as well as becoming aware of the impact of 19th century restoration interventions on this and other medieval monuments.
Visitors will be able to interact with the touchscreen display at the Founder’s Chapel, as well as accessing all the information through their own smartphone. To this end, an app will be developed using Cardboard technology. This software uses binocular composition to view a digital 3D model, with interaction ensured by the system’s response to the user’s head movements.
